Situation from the beginning. According to research by Search Engine Land's Greg Starlin , we found that 84% of consumers search for restaurants online, more than any other category . Today, restaurant searches are not dramatically different from general searches. However, there are some subtle differences, such as easy-to-understand food photos. The Restaurant Local Pack also includes special filters like "Past Visits" that let you ask Google to look at reviews, food type, price, time, and location history. Use this filter to display only restaurants you've visited or restaurants you've never visited. Additionally, descriptions such as "Relaxing spot for traditional dining" in the Divine Thai listing below are far more common than other listings due to the hard work of Google's editorial team. Because of this, restaurant searches seem much more recommended than other category searches.
Service oriented business Google has been steadily rolling out new features for Local Services Ads over the past few years, including the Google Guaranteed Refund Program and Google Screened license verification service, but this effort is only half-way through. This is likely because many industries are excluded from local Belgium Phone Number Data services advertising. Real estate agents, lawyers, and financial planners were added in 2019, and the list currently includes about 30 types of industries. (Locksmiths, plumbers, pet groomers, photographers, house cleaners, pest control) Local service ads aren't available in every region of the United States, but they're expanding. The user experience with Local Services Ads is a bit poor compared to Google Shopping and Google Travel. Search for "house cleaners anaheim ca" and you'll see an ad carousel at the top of the screen, with local packs vying for traffic below. Compared to Google Hotels, there is no clear incentive to choose advertising.
Once you've properly filled out the Local Services Ads interface and selected your business, you'll be presented with a much simpler profile than the hotel example I shared above. But if this is meant to replace a website, I don't find it particularly impressive. Still, the very existence of Local Services Ads signals Google's interest in becoming the future of Home Advisor. We can predict that Google will provide more robust services in the future and that this will take off. And it's free for businesses. Today, service-oriented businesses must compete with large corporations to pay for advertising or to rank on Google Maps and local packs. There's no question that this is why service-oriented categories such as locksmiths, garage door installers, and lawyers receive spam. Where will Google go next? Given the momentum Google is building around verticalized experiences, it's likely that Google will continue to add more verticals to its search results over the next year .
