The award, presented by the dean of the University, Dr. Rafael Rodríguez-Ponga , sought to recognize the social work promoted by the Foundation, which to date has supported more than 700 beneficiaries, including direct social work aid and/or or complementary. The Degà Ignasi de Gispert Foundation was created by the ICAB, the Lawyers' Fund and the Social Welfare Mutual of the Lawyers of Catalonia in 1999 with the aim of carrying out social work for members and their families. In this sense, the Foundation offers financial aid to lawyers who suffer serious financial difficulties due to illness or accident.
Exceptionally, these benefits can also reach people linked to the ICAB who find themselves in the same circumstances. Reading of the Manifesto of the Commission of Women Lawyers and Maria Soteras i Mauri Legal Award Within the framework of the commemorative events organized by the ICAB on the occasion of International Women's Day, the president of the Commission of Women Lawyers, Olga Arderiu , has explained that this Commission has prepared a manifesto to strongly and persistently vindicate its commitment with the human rights of women and girls.

The lawyers and members of this Commission Teresa Blasi Gacho, Victoria Prada Pérez and Lídia Borrell Roca have read the manifesto that ended with the demand: "Our demand is justice, equity and freedom." The Women's Commission has also recalled that under their impetus the Barcelona Bar Association has created the Maria Soteras i Mauri Legal Prize, “the first named after a woman, to recognize the figure and legacy of who was the first woman.
